ソーシャルメディアセールス:TikTokでバイラルする商品(2024年秋)

A man with hands chained together holds a phone. He has a crazed look in his eye as he stares at the screen. This is exactly how we looked like when we wrote this blog post.

And people say doomscrolling is bad for you. Heh. How do you think we made this list?

The latest TikTok trends are more than just viral fads—they’re the sweet, somewhat moldy bread crumbs dropped by unwitting consumers. Why should you, as an e-commerce store owner, pay attention to these? Aside from the fact that all e-commerce store owners are actually hungry ducks in human skin-suits (this is known), looking at past and current trends might be helpful for figuring out what's the next big thing.

So here are three products currently blowing up. Let’s see what we can learn (and sell) before the next big wave hits.

1. The Mushroom Lamp

"I swear officer, it's just a lamp. If I could just turn it on you'll see. Get it? Heh. NO WAIT DON'T TAZE ME!"

Mushroom lamps are in vogue. Yes, you read that right. No, you're not back in Wonderland at a tea party hosted by an insane Irish guy in a big hat, after having chased a half-naked white rabbit through a hole in a tree (we've all been there though; no shame in it.)

This fungal-themed home decor is all over TikTok right now, especially in #RoomMakeover videos. Why is that? Because people like to vehemently prove how quirky they are to their friends who either don't exist or rarely come over; and there's no better way to do that than by putting a glowing toadstool next to your bed.

There's not even one brand or type either; looking through TikTok, you'll find a bunch of different mushroom lamps. Cute, kitschy, and mildly trippy --40 years ago folks had lava lamps; now we have light-up mushrooms.

Why you should care: People are impulse-buying these things like their sanity depends on it. Maybe the trend will last. Maybe, just maybe, if you stock them in your e-commerce store, you’ll ride the money wave of nostalgia with a sprinkle of cottagecore and “vibe-setting". Probably not though (and if you understood any of the keywords we used in the last sentence, you should be ashamed of yourself). But quirky home decor was in demand back in the 60's, and it's in demand now, and maybe that's all you really need to know.

2. Hair Growth Oil

Add it to your morning routine. Use it to fuel your car. Substitute it in place of vegetable or olive oil when cooking.

Bet you never expected this: hair growth oil is trending on TikTok right now. Specifically, Mielle Rosemary Mint Hair Oil --aka the magic potion that promises to fix everyone’s hair trauma, one drop at a time.

While we can't comment on it's actual effectiveness (the Mix-Mix Mail team is unfortunately cursed with incredibly lush, natural heads of hair). Thanks to TikTok, this hair oil product has become the hair savior of 2024. Influencers and regular folk swear by it... and there's no way random people on the internet could be biased or wrong!

Why you should care: If your store isn’t already stocked with hair growth oils, you’re basically telling customers to go buy from someone who’s cooler than you. Beyond that, the take away here is that beauty products will probably always be trending, regardless of season or time period. The ancient Romans had their skin cream, feudal Japan had black teeth (it's called "ohaguro", look it up ;D), and Fall 2024 has hair growth oil.

3. The Mini Portable Blender

Thanks to this bad boy, all our favorite murder mysteries can now take place in exotic locations.

Next up, we’ve got the mini portable blender. Because apparently, you can’t just blend at home anymore; you’ve got to blend everywhere, all the time. Maybe it shouldn't come as a surprise: afterall, TikTok’s fitness and wellness communities are obsessed with whipping up protein shakes, smoothies, and even cocktails from anywhere on the planet.

Why you should care: Wellness is a multi-billion dollar industry, and TikTok is driving it faster than you can say “kale smoothie” (did you just try to say it? If not, you probably tried it that time. Heh). Portable blenders are trending hard, and they’re perfect for targeting the health-conscious crowd who think juicing is just a stepping stone to enlightenment. What does all of this tell us? That health goods are another product that generally seems to be in style.

Conclusion

Guess what always sells like hotcakes, regardless of TikTok trends? Hotcakes. *badum tssss*

And there you have it: TikTok’s trending products of Fall 2024, where mushroom lamps, hair growth oils, and portable blenders all somehow make sense in the same timeline. Who knows if they'll still be popular in a month or two... still, these bizarre little blips on the radar give us a rare glimpse into the erratic mess that is consumer behavior.

So keep your eyes peeled. Today, it’s mini blenders for the always-on-the-go, tomorrow it could be finger-less gloves with Tamagotchis built into the back (you remember Tamagotchis? Lawd we love Tamagotchis). The trick is to stay one step ahead, ready to pounce on the next viral oddity before everyone else is in on it.
