1. Ship&Co
When Ship&Co gets you feeling so relaxed that you sit on wall. Because that's a relaxing activity that relaxed people do.
If Japan Post’s website makes you question your life choices, Ship&Co is the answer. Ok, maybe not THE answer, but it pretty much instantly solves most problems with the International My-Page Service site. Also, they've got a perfect English interface, if you're not entirely comfortable with Japanese yet.
Ship&Co isn’t just any shipping software; it’s like the superhero of the shipping world, swooping in to save you from that archaic mess the Japan Post calls an interface. Ship&Co was made by the folks behind Bento&Co (yes, the same folks who sell the nice looking lunchboxes).
Why do we like Ship&Co so much? Because it seamlessly integrates with platforms like Shopify, Amazon, and eBay, making it almost suspiciously easy to manage orders and print labels. No more wrestling with .csv files that refuse to upload. No more throwing your screen across your room when a form mysteriously resets. Ship&Co takes 95% of the pain out of the process, so you can focus on more important things—like plotting the downfall of whoever designed Japan Post's website.
Pros:
- Ship&Co syncs with multiple platforms, reducing data entry to a few clicks.
- Supports Japan Post, DHL, FedEx, and more, so all your shipping needs are covered.
- Prints labels instantly—no technical acrobatics required.
- The amount you pay per month is based on your volume. If you're making more labels, you're paying less.
- You don't have to use their e-commerce integrations if you don't want to. Everything can be done from their website.
Cons:
- There’s a monthly fee which technically boils down to "fee per label"
- It's a bit confusing to use at the beginning.
- If you were under the logical assumption that because Bento&Co sells bentos, that Ship&Co must sell ships; you're in for a surprise.
We know we’re gushing, but we promise this is pure love. Ship&Co is great and the reason why we put it #1 on this list is because we like them better than the next option. That said, the next option is good too!
2. easyLabel
You don't have to sacrifice any more goats to get Japan Post international shipping labels printed. Makes you wish you'd discovered easyLabel just a little bit sooner, eh?
If you’ve ever screamed at Japan Post’s website like it just stole your lunch money, we feel you. For stores that are built on Shopify, using easyLabel is a great way to skip all of the nonsense. You stay in your Shopify admin, create a label in seconds, and get back to doing literally anything else.
It’s not fancy, it’s just functional. You click, it works. No ceremonies, no confusion. Need to auto-fill details? Done. Partial orders? Handled. It’s everything the Japan Post website would have, if they weren't stuck in the 90's.
Again, easyLabel has an English interface, which is great and all, but you can also switch to Japanese if you prefer.
Pros:
- Stays in Shopify. No need to touch the Japan Post website ever again.
- Automatically fills in shipping info so you don’t accidentally ship a box of air.
- Manages complicated orders and batch shipping.
Cons:
- Is a Shopify app. If your store isn't built on Shopify, you're out of luck.
- Only works for international shipments. You’ll have to use something else for domestic shipments.
- Costs $14.90 a month for their cheapest plan. Not free, but if you're shipping 15+ boxes per month, it's probably worth it just for the time and energy it saves you.
